I am  a Western clinical herbalist.  Not a doctor. Not a Naturopath. Not a Massage Therapist. I am not qualified to treat or diagnose illness. Rather, I work with diet, lifestyle, herbs, and supplements to strengthen your body to heal itself.

What I do: I am a clinical herbalist trained in Functional Herbalism and field botany. Functional Herbalism is a form of practice integrating traditional western herbalism with clinical nutrition and functional medicine. It is a systems-based model that honors traditional plant-based care, while recognizing the importance of lifestyle modifications, herbs, and supplements, alongside functional laboratory testing, to address the whole person rather than an isolated set of symptoms or disease. I work with many types of issues, acute and chronic, and specialize in Mast Cell Disorders, the Nervous System and Autoimmunity.

Basically, I have a deep love and respect for traditional plant medicine, but think that our world has changed a lot, and that traditional energetic models alone fall short due to illnesses and nutrient deficiencies not common when these systems were developed. That is why I choose to blend the modalities to offer my clients more tools for healing. Tradition and Science.

I look at a person’s energetics, as well as the energetics of the remedies I choose through the 6 tissue state model. This system is amazing for picking classes of herbs best suited for client’s individual constitution. Tongue and pulse assessment, as well as observation and intake questions allow me to recognize patterns of hot/cold, tense/lax, dry/damp and support these states.

Using functional blood work assessment, I can recognize nutrient deficiencies, and other red flags that help to get to the root cause of illness. Not being a licensed medical practitioner, if I see anything troubling in a client’s blood work, I refer to a medical doctor for diagnosis, then continuing supporting with herbs and supplements within their doctor’s treatment plan.

I believe that healthcare is a human right; no one will be turned away for lack of funds, I am happy to work with you within your financial situation. This includes: Full or partial bartering (including work/trade, products and services) and  sliding scale appointments. Please email for options!
